OAP CORE CLINICAL SERVICES
Core Clinical Services include Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy and mental health supports. Services are individualized based on your child’s unique strengths, needs, and goals.
Families can access these services using their OAP funding (including Access OAP funding, Childhood Budgets, Interim One-Time Funding), as well as through private insurance or out-of-pocket payment.
Our team works collaboratively with families to develop personalized service plans that promote meaningful progress at home, at school, and in the community.

We also recognize that children without a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder may wish to purchase additional therapy services, so our services are available to any child/youth regardless of diagnosis.

Group based ABA Services that focus on building skills in the areas of communication, social skills, self-help skills or emotional regulation.

Foundational Family Services are available to all families registered with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) at no cost.

What is applied behaviour analysis (ABA)?
Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based treatment approach that can be used for children and teens diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to help them live their best lives. It focuses on teaching life changing skills like communication, self-care, social skills, school readiness, and much more. ABA can also help decrease challenging behaviours like tantrums and aggression.
We use ABA strategies to support growth in the following areas:
- Communication skills
- Social interaction
- Play and leisure activities
- Motor skills
- Independence with daily living skills
- Emotional regulation
- Managing challenging behaviours
What is the Ontario Autism Program (OAP)?
The Ontario Autism Program (OAP) is a government-funded program that provides support and services for children and youth under 18 with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who live in Ontario.
The program offers needs-based funding and access to evidence-informed services to help build skills in areas such as communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and daily living. Families can use OAP funding to purchase eligible clinical services and supports from approved providers.
The OAP is designed to give families flexibility and choice, while ensuring children and youth receive services that reflect their individual strengths, needs, and goals.

What do your ABA Programs include?
- Initial needs and strengths assessment
- In-person observation and assessment, as required
- Individualized program development
- Delivery of evidence-based treatment by highly trained therapists
- Clinical oversight by Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA)/Registered Behaviour Analysts (R.B.A., Ont.)
- Ongoing communication on your child’s progress
- Final report provided to families to summarize goals and future service recommendations
- Family support and services offered in-person, by phone or by video through our secure TEAMS platform
How do you assess a child’s needs before starting ANY of the Core Clinical Programs?
We conduct a thorough intake assessment with the family and in-person observations, if needed, to determine the most suitable ABA program for the child. For speech-language therapy and occupational therapy, our SLP and OT conducts a 1 hour initial assessment to identify individual goals.
