After School Prgrams (Ages 8-14)

Our after‑school programs help children build practical, social, and independent living skills in a supportive, structured environment. Each program is designed to strengthen everyday abilities, from conversation and flexible thinking to homework routines, kitchen skills, and real‑world readiness.

Children learn through hands‑on activities led by our Behaviour Therapists and supervised by Registered Behaviour Analysts (R.B.A., Ont.), ensuring evidence‑informed teaching and meaningful progress. Programs are grouped by age and skill level so every child can participate confidently, connect with peers, and build the skills they need for success at home, school, and in the community.

Kitchen Basics

Ages 12-14

Skill Level: Intermediate/Advanced

1 day/week; 12 weeks

2 hours

By learning about meal preparation and kitchen safety, your child can develop skills that can lead to greater independence, becoming more involved with the cooking at home, or a willingness to try a dish they made themselves, thus expanding their food repertoire. The group will teach skills such as following a recipe, setting the table, and cleaning up.

Let’s Talk: Conversation Essentials

Ages 12-14

Skill Level: Advanced

1 day/week; 12 weeks

2 hours

This program addresses the development of conversation skills, including understanding social cues and personal space, initiating and maintaining conversations, and turn-taking.

Homework Heros

Ages 8-11

Skill Level: Advanced

1 day/week; 12 weeks

2 hours

This program supports elementary and early high school students who need help with organization, homework routines, and task completion. Homework Heroes helps children build independent skills by working directly on their own school assignments while learning strategies to organize materials, manage workload, and complete homework.

Unstuck and On Target!

Ages 8-11

Skill Level: Advanced

1 day/week; 12 weeks

2 hours

Unstuck and On Target! is an engaging, evidence-informed program that helps children and youth build flexible thinking, self-regulation, and goal-setting skills. Through interactive, hands-on activities, participants learn practical strategies to “get unstuck” from rigid thinking and stay “on target” in school, home, and social situations. The program supports children in improving problem-solving, emotional regulation, planning, and independence, helping them build lifelong skills for success across everyday environments.
