CAREGIVER MEDIATED EARLY YEARS PROGRAMS
Families and caregivers will learn therapeutic strategies and techniques based on their child’s individual needs. The focus is on building parents’ and caregivers’ capacity to support their child’s skill development in the following areas:
- Communication
- Social interacton
- Play
- Emotional development
- Adaptive development and self-help skills
Registration and Eligibility
Early Years Services are available to all families registered with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) at no cost and are available for up to six months per child.
Eligible participants must be registered with the Ontario Autism Program and have received an invitation letter to participate in the Caregiver-Mediated Early Years Services.
In Toronto region, the program is delivered by Toronto Autism Service Network, a group of seven agencies—Geneva Centre for Autism, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, Kerry’s Place Autism Services, Lumenus Community Services, SAAAC Autism Centre, Strides Toronto and Surrey Place, – with decades of experience providing high-quality services to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families.
